How to play Klondike Draw-3 Solitaire
Draw-3 Klondike is the casino-style version of the classic game: instead of turning over one card at a time, you turn over three at once. Only the top waste card is playable at any time; playing it exposes the card below. This keeps more of the stock hidden at any moment. You can still go through the stock as many times as you need.
The rules in short
Setup is identical to standard Klondike: seven tableau columns and 24 cards in the stock.
Build the tableau down in alternating colors and the foundations up by suit from Ace to King.
Click the stock to flip three cards at once onto the waste. Only the top waste card is playable.
When fewer than three cards remain in the stock, the last one, two, or all of them are turned over together.
When the stock is empty, click it to recycle the waste and go through it again. No recycle limit.
Only a King or a King-led run can fill an empty column.
Tips
Think two or three stock clicks ahead. Many cards are temporarily buried under others, so picture what each click uncovers.
An empty column is worth more in Draw-3 than in Draw-1 because it is harder to reach specific cards.
If you are going in circles, try to clear a second empty column before recycling the stock again.
Questions
Why can't I play the second card in the waste pile?
Only the top waste card is playable. Move the top card to the tableau or a foundation to uncover the one below it.
Is Draw-3 harder than Draw-1?
Yes. Fewer waste cards are accessible at any time, so a good sequence in the stock is harder to reach.
Can I recycle the stock more than once?
Yes. This board allows unlimited recycling, so go through the stock as many times as you need.
