Privacy Policy
Big Card Solitaire does not collect personal data. We do not run tracking scripts, we do not set tracking cookies, and we do not share information with advertisers or anyone else. The rest of this page goes into the detail.
What we collect
The only information the site stores about you is a single setting in your own
browser's localStorage: the card size you have chosen on the Klondike board.
The key is named bigcardsolitaire:zoom and the value is a number
between 0.9 and 2.0. We use it so the cards stay the size you picked the next
time you visit. It never leaves your browser, and we cannot read it from our
side.
If you clear your browser's site data for bigcardsolitaire.com, the setting goes with it.
What we do not collect
- No account, no signup, no email address.
- No traditional tracking scripts. We do not run Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, or any other measurement service that sets cookies or collects personal information. We do use Cloudflare Web Analytics — a small (~3 KB) script that reports aggregate pageview counts and route popularity to our dashboard. It does not set cookies, does not assign individual identifiers, does not record what you click or how long you stay, and shares no data with third parties. We use it to understand which articles are useful and how the site is growing — nothing more.
- No tracking cookies.
- No social media buttons, embedded videos, or third-party widgets that would phone home on your behalf.
- No fingerprinting. We do not record your device, browser version, screen size, or any other identifying signal beyond what your browser sends to any web server (your IP address, which our hosting provider sees but we never look at).
Your rights under data protection law
As we operate in Iceland under EU/EEA data protection rules (GDPR), you have certain rights regarding personal data even when no personal data is collected. Since we do not collect, store, or process any personal data about you, there is nothing for us to provide access to, rectify, erase, or transfer. The only data stored locally on your own device is your card zoom preference, which you control entirely — you can clear it any time through your browser settings (Settings → Privacy → Clear site data, or equivalent for your browser).
If you ever have questions about how we handle data, contact us at info@bigcardsolitaire.com. We respond within reasonable time.
Third parties
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you load a page, Cloudflare sees
your IP address and a request log, the same as any web host would. Cloudflare's
dashboard surfaces aggregate request counts per page (no cookies, no individual
identification) — this is the only visibility we have into site traffic.
Cloudflare may also set short-lived functional cookies named __cf_bm
or cf_clearance to block automated abuse of the site. These are
not tracking cookies and we do not control them; their full handling is
covered by Cloudflare's own privacy policy at
cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
We do not use any other third-party service that would receive information about you. No CDN for fonts, no analytics, no embedded content from other domains.
Advertising
At the time of writing, the site shows no advertising. We plan to add display advertising in the future to cover hosting costs and support continued development. If and when that happens, we will update this page before any advertising script runs, and we will explain what an advertising partner can see and what choices you have.
Children
Big Card Solitaire is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and the site is designed around an adult audience.
Changes to this policy
If the privacy practices on this site change, we will update this page and revise the date below. We do not have a mailing list to notify, so if this matters to you, please check back when something on the site looks new.
