How to play Memory Match

Memory Match spreads all 52 cards face-down on a grid. Flip two at a time: if they share the same rank — suit does not matter — both are removed. If they do not match, both flip back face-down and you try again. The goal is to clear all 26 pairs in as few total attempts as possible.

The rules in short

  1. 52 cards on an 8×7 grid (four alternate cells in the bottom row are left empty), all face-down. The grid does not change during play.
  2. Click any face-down card to flip it. It stays face-up while you choose the second card.
  3. Click a second face-down card. If both cards share the same rank (any suit), they are matched and removed.
  4. If they do not match, both cards remain face-up. Select your next card and they flip back face-down automatically.
  5. Repeat until all 26 pairs are removed. Your attempt count is shown at the top.

Questions

Does suit matter for a match?

No. Two cards match if they share the same rank, regardless of suit. The 7 of hearts and the 7 of spades are a valid pair.

Can I flip a card that has already been matched?

No. Matched cards are removed from the grid and cannot be selected again.

Is there a time limit?

No. The game counts your attempts but there is no clock. Take as long as you need.
